Certus will organise a training program for software industry professionals in Norway over two days 21-22 November, 2013. These courses aim to promote application of state of the art software engineering research in the Norwegian software industry. We welcome professionals from the Norwegian software industry to Simula for two days to attend these interactive courses and share their experiences on real-industrial practices!
On the 21st, the first half-day will be on software architectural design using model-based approaches tutored by Bran Selic. This course is designed for industry professionals interested in applying modelling tools to enhance their software architecture and design process. The second half-day will be on software testing. This courses will cover modelling test requirements and automatic exploratory approaches to software testing. This course will be jointly tutored by Shaukat Ali and Sagar Sen. This course is designed for professionals interested in modelling test requirements at a high-level and automating test generation, selection, and minimisation.
Software maintenance and evolution is a major concern in most software industries. The second day, 22nd of November, is the software evolution day is dedicated to leverage evidence-based software engineering to improve software quality. During the first half, Magne Jørgensen will conduct a course of myths and fashion in the software industry and how estimation of software projects can be improved using evidence-based software engineering. In the second half, Leon Moonen will tutor a course on software analytics. The course will be about research in reverse engineering, pattern recognition, data mining and information visualisation to obtain insightful and actionable information that supports evidence-based decisions to improve software quality and productivity.
