In March of 2014, in accordance with “best practice” from the Norwegian Research Council, the Certus board decided to establish a Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) for the Certus Centre.
The input of a Scientific Advisory Board will provide useful insight into the Certus self-evaluation process. In addition the SAB will give input on topics like scientific direction and priorities, and international collaboration and research profile. Their opinion will also be sought regarding the activities of the final three-year period of the Certus project.

The decision was made to adopt the same SAB for The Software Engineering department as for Certus. The members of the Certus SAB are Antonia Bertolino (SEDC Laboratory, Consiglio Nazionale dell Ricerche di Pisa), Laurence Duchien (Université Lille 1), and Franz Wotawa (Graz University of Technology).
The SAB paid their first visit to Simula Research Laboratory to evaluate the Certus project last week (5th – 7th November). After a productive visit we eagerly await their report.
