Certus Open Courses 2014

The second annual Certus Open Courses ran at Simula Research Laboratory on November 10th and 11th 2014.

Speakers

Bran Selic: a part-time research scientist at Simula, where he focusses on system architecture modeling for embedded, real-time systems. Ordinarily Bran is based in Canada, where he is the president of a consulting company. Bran holds several part-time/visiting researcher and lecturing positions at universities on three different continents.

Shaukat Ali: has been with the Certus centre since its creation, first as a PhD student, then as a postdoctoral fellow. He is currently responsible for the project Testing of Real-Time Embedded Systems.

Arnaud Gotlieb: is the leader of the Certus centre, and head of the software engineering department at Simula. His main research focus has been software testing.

Sagar Sen: joined Certus in 2012; he is responsible for the project Testing of Data-Intensive Systems. Sagar is also jointly responsible for the Training and Knowledge Transfer project in Certus. As part of that responsibility he organizes the Certus Open Courses.

Magne Jørgensen: a chief research scientist at Simula, Magne belongs to the software engineering department. Magne has an impressive publication record and varied research interests within the field of software engineering, including evidence-based software engineering.

Representatives from five of the six Certus user partners, and from the host partner, attended the courses. In addition to the training there was a social event on the evening of the 10th at Olivia at Aker Brygge.
